Dear Church Family,

Hope this letter finds you blessed! It’s hard to believe how fast another month has flashed by. It seems yesterday I was writing our letter for the month of August. As I think of how rapidly time passes and how there is just never enough time, it makes me long for an eternal home. How wonderful to dwell in the courts of heaven. We are told that with God, a thousand years may seem “but as yesterday when it is past” (Psalm 90:4). Talk about time flying by! Yet we are also told in II Peter 3, that a day can be as a thousand years. Think of what you could accomplish if each day had a thousand years in it. What a blessed thought to have no end of days and no shortage of time. That is just one of the countless things I look forward to in my Fathers’ house. I pray Christ will find us ready when He comes!

The month of September will be one of those months we could use a few extra days as a lot is happening. We are in the process of developing a new Lubbock Church picture directory with Life Touch Photography. We are diligently working at getting the names, addresses and phone numbers updated and correct for the directory. Please take time to make sure your contact information is up to date. Life Touch will be contacting each of us in the next couple of weeks to schedule a photo session on September 10, 11, or 12. You will have the opportunity, but not any obligation, to have family portraits at the same time. If those dates will not work for you, or there is some other difficulty, please let us know.

Our West Texas for Jesus program with Pastor Buford Griffith will start Friday September 21. We will have a special preparation and prayer time Wednesday the 18th at 7 pm. Please remember this in your prayers and gifts. Please remember to pray for family, co-workers, neighbors and friends that the Spirit will prepare their hearts. Also, if you want to help with the seminar, there is no shortage of things to do to make the seminar run smoothly. Your attendance is vital to the success of this seminar.

Sabbath the 1st I will share a message entitled Prevailing Faith. We will look at the life of Jacob and his journey of faith.

Sabbath the 8th Pastor Daniel Cruz will share If my People, a message drawn from II Chronicles 7:14.

Then on Sabbath the 15th my message will be entitled Send out the Choir. We will look at an inspiring and faith building story in the Bible. As we approach the week prior to the evangelistic series we need to have our faith and prayers at full strength. The source of all true victory is from the Lord.

Sabbaths, September 22 through October 13, we will be blessed to have Pastor Buford Griffith with us. We will be inviting our guests from the West Texas for Jesus seminar to worship with us on Sabbath, September 29. Please pray for Pastor Griffith as he prepares for this seminar.

May the Lord bless and keep each of you in the month ahead. Please pray for us as we pray for you.

Sincerely,

Pastor Jeremy McCombs
