Hello Church Family,
Have you ever wondered, What if…?
What if I had made a different decision? What if I had taken another job? What if I had chosen a different path? As we grow older, these questions become more common. We look back on life and wonder how things might have been different.
But there is another kind of “what if” that is even more important. What if the questions we carry about life, faith, and God are not obstacles to belief—but invitations to know Him more deeply?
This Sabbath we begin a brand-new sermon series titled “What If…?” Over the next several weeks, we will explore some of the most honest and difficult questions people ask. Questions about doubt, suffering, waiting, purpose, forgiveness, faith, and God’s will. These are not questions that only skeptics ask. They are questions that sincere believers have wrestled with throughout Scripture.
Our first message will take us to the road to Emmaus in Luke 24. Two disciples were walking away from Jerusalem carrying shattered hopes and unanswered questions. Everything they believed seemed to have fallen apart. Yet, without realizing it, Jesus was walking beside them. Before He gave them answers, He gave them His presence. Before He corrected their understanding, He walked with them in their confusion.
Perhaps you have come to church this Sabbath carrying questions of your own. Maybe you are wondering why God has not answered a prayer, why life has taken an unexpected turn, or whether your faith is strong enough. If so, know that you are not alone. God has never been intimidated by honest questions, and He is still willing to walk with those who seek Him sincerely.
My prayer is that this series will remind us that faith is not the absence of questions—it is the decision to keep walking with Jesus even while we are searching for answers. As we open God’s Word together each week, may our confidence rest not in having every answer, but in knowing the One who is the Truth.
I invite you to join us each Sabbath as we discover that our greatest “what if” moments can become opportunities to experience God’s grace, His truth, and His presence in a deeper way.
I look forward to worshiping with you this Sabbath.
