Happy Sabbath, church family!
What a blessing it is to welcome you to
the house of the Lord on this beautiful
Sabbath day! Whether you are a longtime
member, a returning friend, or worshiping
with us for the very first time, we are so
glad that you decided to spend this
special day with us. My prayer is that
today you will experience the presence of
God, hear His voice, and leave encouraged and strengthened
for the week ahead.
Unfortunately, I am not there with you today. I have been
invited to preach at the Odessa Seventh-day Adventist Church
for a special event they are having this weekend. Although I
am grateful for the opportunity to minister and share God’s
Word with our brothers and sisters there, I must tell you, I
miss my church family!
There is something very special about worshiping together at
our church. I miss seeing your faces, hearing our church sing
together, praying together, opening the Word of God together,
and experiencing the unique worship service that God has
blessed us with here in Lubbock. There truly is no place like
home!
But even though I am not physically there today, I know that
God has something special prepared for you.
Our head elder, Glenn, will be preaching the Word of God
today, and I am grateful for his willingness to allow the Lord to
use him. I know that God has given him a message for our
church, and I encourage you to open your heart and listen for
what the Holy Spirit wants to say to you personally.
Remember, the power is not in the person standing behind the
pulpit, the power is in the Word of God!
I am already looking forward to being back with you next
Sabbath because it is going to be another special day! Our
young people will be leading and participating in the worship
service, and I cannot wait to see what God is going to do
through them. I believe God is raising up a generation of young
people who love Jesus and are willing to use their gifts for His
glory, and as a church family, we have the privilege of
encouraging and supporting them.
Church family, enjoy this Sabbath. Worship wholeheartedly.
Love one another. Listen to God’s voice. And never forget how
blessed we are to be part of a church family that is preparing
together for the soon return of Jesus.
May the Lord richly bless you today. I miss you all, I’m praying
for you, and I can’t wait to see you soon!
