Happy Sabbath, Church Family!
What a blessing it is to gather
together once again in the house of
the Lord! Every Sabbath is a
reminder that God has given us a
special time to slow down, worship,
fellowship, and listen to what He
wants to say to us through His Word.
This Sabbath, I will not be preaching, but I know that
you are in good hands. One of our elders, whom we
lovingly call Smiley, will be sharing the Word of God
with you today. I am grateful for the leaders God has
placed in our church and for their willingness to serve,
teach, encourage, and point us toward Jesus. I pray
that as Smiley opens the Scriptures today, each of us
will have an open heart and be ready to receive the
message God has prepared for us.
I will be away this Sabbath because I have the privilege
of taking my wife to the Women ’s Retreat. I ask that
you please keep us in your prayers as we travel. Pray
that God will give us a safe journey there and bring us
safely back home. We certainly appreciate knowing
that our church family is praying for us!
And I am already looking forward to being back with
you next Sabbath as we continue our sermon series,
“What Does the Bible Really Say?” There are so many
incredible truths in God ’s Word, and I cannot wait for
us to continue discovering them together. In a world
filled with so many voices, opinions, traditions, and
ideas, there is something powerful about opening the
Bible and asking a simple question: What does God ’s
Word actually say?
So, I want to give you a challenge for next Sabbath:
don’t come alone! Think of someone you can invite to
God’s house. It may be a friend, neighbor, coworker,
family member, or someone who simply needs
encouragement. One invitation may be all it takes for
someone to hear the message they desperately need.
May God bless you richly this Sabbath. Worship
together, encourage one another, and receive His Word
with an open heart.
