The students of Lubbock Junior Academy had a unique experience this month.

They sang for the residents of Quail Ridge: An Alzheimer’s, Memory and Dementia Care Facility. The students sang and visited with the residents. The students learned how the staff cares for those who struggle with memory loss. Activities are provided such as cooking classes, gardening and walking clubs. Situated through the halls are memory centers where residents can interact with objects that can remind the residents of their lives. There is a baby nursery, war memorabilia, and laundry items are just a few of the memory stations.

The residents were pleased as the students shook their hands and talked to them. The students exhibited a gentle and caring spirit.

Truly the LJA kids are learning how to exhibit the nurturing spirit of our sweet Savior.
