Dr. Simmons is officially retired but when she received the report, in December of 2008, that she was “cancer free” she believed God had something more for her to do as He truly had spared her life. When she learned of Miss Z’s invitation to be the Principal for the Lubbock Junior Academy she offered to join her as a volunteer, even though she had never heard of Lubbock, TX she believed this to be a call from God.
Pictured here with one of her former students, Dr. Eric Anderson, who is the current President of Southwestern Adventist University – he is just one of the students Dr. Simmons has taught who has become a leader in the Seventh-day Adventist church and education system. We are blessed to have her here educating our children.
