I like to look for projects where our students and their church family can jointly participate. Operation Christmas Child fits that type of a project. The church family donates toys, hygiene items, and school supplies. Next, the students pack the donated items into a shoebox and these packed boxes are shipped to needy children around the world. It’s a win-win service project.

The Lubbock Junior Academy students packed 27 boxes on November 15. It’s fun to watch the students choose just the right pencils, combs and toys for each box. It is so satisfying to know our students are helping and caring for children who are their age, someone they don’t even know. It will surely be wonderful to see our Operation Christmas Child kids in heaven. Who knew a shoebox could do so much?

Please start planning for next year’s contributions. We pack shoeboxes during the third week in November. You don’t want to miss out on an opportunity like this!
