LJA Visit to San Antonio . . . Last week I told you about our visit to the San Antonio Zoo and the fun we had feeding the Lorikeets.

Our second day in San Antonio, we visited the Witte Museum which is located on the banks of the San Antonio River. Here is where we took the time to learn about Texas history.

Jerry, Hayden, Nico, and Jacksen traced the legendary history of South Texas. They were able to interact with exhibits which included saddles, spurs, basketry, branding iron art, firearms and historical clothing. We sat in the museum’s outside amphitheater and heard a presentation about the importance of branding cattle and the various uses of lassos in West Texas.

Jesus has tied us to Him by eternal bands of love and not lassos made of weak and faulty rope. Please consider enrolling your child into a school where the band of God’s love is explored daily.

I would like to again invite all students in grades 1-8 to join our “flock” this August 12, at 8:30 a.m. We’ll have a nice “perch” waiting for you! Registration for the 2013 – 2014 school year is tomorrow, Sunday, August 4, from 2 – 6 p.m. in the church foyer. We would love to see you there.
