One of my favorite events is about to happen. Can you guess? I hope you guessed the Adventist Book Center Bookmobile coming to our Lubbock Adventist Church, April 11, from 5–7pm
It’s one of my favorite times because it’s an opportunity for you to purchase a book or two for the best church school in Texas, Lubbock Junior Academy. We call it Book, Burgers and Bookmobile. Everyone is invited to shop till you drop in the bookmobile for yourself and also to buy one or two books for the school. Then you can wander into the Fellowship Hall and get a vegetarian burger with freshly made salads and a dessert for only $5. This fundraiser goes towards financing our older students’ attendance at the Conference Outdoor School Days.
In the past, this church has purchased books Sam Campbell relating humorous nature stories, mission adventures, animal narratives, and Seventh-day Adventist biographies. The day after we have our Book, Burgers and Bookmobile fund-raiser, I get to show the students the books you bought for the school. The students start grabbing books and immediately want time to read them or suggest a book for our read-aloud time. The sparkle in the kids’ eyes is something that warms the heart of any teacher.
You are cordially invited to attend the Book, Burgers and Bookmobile fundraiser and stay for a yummy supper. We need people to contribute potato, fruit or other salads.
