Each fall and spring Lubbock Junior Academy designates a week of spiritual emphasis. We call these Weeks of Prayer. Our guest speaker for our spring Week of Prayer was our own local Elder, Demond Woolfolk.

Each morning began with Words of Love from the Scriptures. One of the verses was from Hebrews 4:15, “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses. We have a Heavenly Mediator who is acquainted with our sorrows and fears.” Elder Woolfolk explained that Jesus is in the presence of His Father working shoulder to shoulder with Him making sure that when we ask forgiveness for sin, that request blots out the evidence of that sin.

We enjoyed learning how Saul, the Christian Persecutor, was cleaned from the inside out. Saul was approached by Jesus on the way to Damascus. In a brief time Saul was blinded and had to be led into the city. Here, Jesus was able to help Saul understand that he could be changed and could be a partner with Jesus to share the Good News of Salvation.

All of us at Lubbock Junior Academy were encouraged to make certain we are ready to ask God to live in our lives and help us tell others about His love. Please consider joining us for the 2015 – 2016 school year and together we can explore and learn more about becoming a partner with Jesus Christ.
