Happy Sabbath, Church Family!
What a blessing it is to welcome another
Sabbath, a day God has set apart for us to
rest, worship, and draw closer to Him.
Although my wife and I are not physically
with you today, please know that you are
in our thoughts and prayers.
This Sabbath, my wife, several of our
church members, and I are attending the
Texico Conference Convocation in Corrales, New Mexico. We
are grateful for this opportunity to worship and fellowship with
believers from across our conference. Some wonderful
speakers have been invited this year, and we are looking
forward to hearing the messages God has placed upon their
hearts. We pray that the Lord will speak to us, encourage us,
and renew our commitment to His mission.
At the same time, I am grateful that our church family in
Lubbock will continue worshiping together. One of our elders,
Ed Thorne, will be sharing the Word of God with you today. I
know that Ed has prayerfully prepared the message, and I am
confident that God will use him to be a blessing to our
congregation.
Even though many miles separate us today, we are still united
through the presence of the Holy Spirit. The same Spirit
speaking to us in New Mexico will also be speaking to you in
Lubbock. Distance cannot separate the family of God when
our hearts are joined in worship. Wherever God’s people
gather in His name, He promises to be present among them.
I am also very excited about what is coming next Sabbath! We
will begin a brand-new sermon series titled “What Does the
Bible Say?” In a world filled with countless opinions,
traditions, voices, and conflicting ideas, we need to return to
the sure foundation of God’s Word. Throughout this series, we
will explore important biblical truths and allow Scripture, not
culture, popular opinion, or personal preference, to guide
what we believe and how we live.
I cannot wait to begin this journey through the Bible with all of
you. My prayer is that this series will strengthen our faith,
deepen our understanding of Scripture, and help us become
better prepared to explain the hope that is within us.
Church family, we miss worshiping with you today, but we are
praying that you experience God’s presence in a powerful
way. Please receive the message He has prepared for you
through Elder Ed Thorne. We love you, we miss you, and we
cannot wait to see you next Sabbath!
