Hello Church Family,
Last Sabbath we began our new
sermon series, “What If…?”, by asking
a difficult but honest question: What if
we’ve been wrong? Together we
discovered that the two disciples on the
road to Emmaus were not abandoned
by Jesus, they simply failed to recognize
that He had been walking beside them all along. Their
disappointment was not proof of God’s absence; it was
the result of expectations that needed to be reshaped by
God’s Word.
This Sabbath, we take the next step on that journey with
another question that many believers have asked but
few are willing to admit:
What if God is silent?
If you have ever prayed for healing that never came,
waited for an answer that seemed delayed, or wondered
why heaven felt quiet during one of the hardest seasons
of your life, then you are not alone. Even faithful men and
women in Scripture wrestled with those same emotions.
One of them was the prophet Habakkuk. His book begins
not with praise, but with questions. He cried out, “How
long, Lord?” He looked around at injustice and suffering
and wondered why God seemed silent. Yet by the end of
his journey, Habakkuk’s circumstances had not
changed, but his faith had. He discovered that God’s
silence does not mean God has stopped listening,
stopped caring, or stopped working.
Perhaps you find yourself in a season of waiting. Maybe
you are praying for a loved one, searching for direction,
carrying a burden no one else knows about, or
wondering why God has not answered your prayers the
way you hoped. This week’s message is a reminder that
faith is not built on how loudly God speaks, but on
trusting His character even when His voice seems quiet.
I invite you to join us this Sabbath as we continue
our “What If…?” series and discover that even in the
silence, God is accomplishing far more than we can see.
My prayer is that you will leave with renewed confidence
that while God may not always work according to our
timetable, He is always faithful to His promises.
I look forward to worshiping with you this Sabbath.
