Happy Sabbath,
Church Family!
It is always a joy to greet you on
this blessed day of rest. I pray
that as you entered the doors of
our church this morning, you felt
the peace of God embracing you.
It is my prayer that the Lord
continues to bless your life and
that He gives you peace in the
midst of any struggles, worries, or burdens you may
be carrying today. The Sabbath is God’s gift to us – a
reminder that He is our Creator, our Sustainer, and
our Redeemer.
Today, we continue our sermon series titled “Rooted.”
In this series, we have been reflecting on what it truly
means to be firmly grounded in God’s Word and in His
love. A tree without strong roots cannot stand when
the storm comes, and in the same way, a believer
who is not rooted in God will be easily shaken by the
trials and confusion of this world.
Our focus text this morning comes from Genesis 4:9,
where Cain asked God, “Am I my brother’s keeper?”
This question echoes throughout history, and sadly, it
continues to echo in our world today. All around us,
we see hatred, division, and violence. We see families
torn apart, communities divided, and nations in
conflict. Political parties fight one another, and
sometimes people even lose their lives simply because
they believe differently.
But as children of God, we are called to live
differently. The Bible reminds us that we are indeed
our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers. We are called to
care, to watch over one another, and to extend the
same love that Christ has shown us. At the end of the
day, regardless of race, language, or political view, we
are all God’s children.
Being rooted in Christ means that we do not let
hatred, anger, or division take root in our hearts.
Instead, we allow the Spirit of God to plant in us
seeds of love, forgiveness, and compassion. It is only
by living this way that the world will see Jesus in us.
So today, may we remember that God has entrusted
us with the responsibility of being our brother’s
keeper. Let us encourage one another, lift each other
up, and walk together as one family in Christ.
Happy Sabbath, dear church family. May the peace of
God dwell richly in your heart today and always!
Blessings,
Pastor Raul Alvarez
