2 Timothy 1:7-9 we read:
7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of
power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
8 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of
our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with
me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the
power of God,
9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling,
not according to our works, but according to His
own purpose and grace which was given to us in
Christ Jesus before time began”
God has had faithful followers all throughout the history of this world. From Abraham and Isaac, to Noah and Moses and Enoch and Elijah who were not ashamed of the truth and the testimony of our Lord, Jesus Christ. From Christs’ 12 disciples to the apostles, to Joseph Bates and Ellen G. White who accepted the holy calling. To all the pioneers of our church as well as to all the members of this church;
God calls us to be faithful to Him as He is faithful to us.
We can all look forward to the reward Jesus is preparing for us in heaven for all those who choose to be faithful to Him. We all have times when we fail to be faithful to God. We might be disobedient, or tell a lie, or hurt someone else with our words but God is so faithful to us that He made a way for us to enjoy the reward of heaven anyway.
Being called to be faithful is a Testimony of our Personal Relationship with Him.
Being called to be faithful is a Promise of Hope according to His own purpose and grace for our lives.
Being called to be faithful is to Equip and Empower us to do whatever He calls us to do.
Let us all unite in one Spirit, respond to the calling by saying “Here am I Lord, Send me”
