The Lubbock Junior Academy, along with the Lubbock Adventist Children’s Ministry programs, (including Sabbath School) participate in raising awareness and prevention of the mistreatment of the vulnerable, through an online program that helps accomplish this goal by training those who work with children and adolescents about abuse, neglect, predators, bullying, boundaries, respect, and the perils of cyberspace.

All volunteers participating in children’s/youth programs at our church must complete “Shield the Vulnerable” training online. All volunteers, 18 years old and over, who work in ministries that involve children are required to have this training completed in order to volunteer. There is no cost involved.

Lubbock Junior Academy needs adults aged 18 or over to drive cars on field trips, assist with school projects, help the teachers when emergencies occur, etc. Currently LJA only has four adults who have completed this training and are qualified to assist the teachers with the students.

We are asking you to please complete this training immediately. You will also need to give permission for a personal background check in order for you to work in any of our children or adolescent ministries.

The training is on-line at: http://www.shield the vulnerable.org Your help is greatly needed and will be appreciated.
