Shop, sort, pack, check. Shop,sort, pack, double-check. All week the students and teachers of Lubbock Junior Academy (LJA) have been preparing shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child http://www.samaritanspurse.org/
Operation Christmas Child collects and then fills shoeboxes full of items kids need and lets the child know someone in the world cares for them. This is a project where our LJA students can help a child they may never see or know have a bit of Christmas joy. Please help us by donating the following items. Our goal is to fill 40 boxes.
We need these items by Monday morning, Nov. 22.
TOYS – small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, jump ropes, small Etch A Sketch®, toys that light up or make noise (with extra batteries), Slinky®, etc.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES – pens, pencils and sharpeners, crayons or markers, stamps and ink pad sets, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, coloring, picture books, etc.
HYGIENE ITEMS – toothbrush, toothpaste, mild bar soap (in a plastic bag), comb, washcloth, etc.
OTHER – Hard candy and lollipops (please double bag all candy), mints, gum, T-shirts, socks, ball caps; sunglasses, hair clips, toy jewelry, watches, flashlights (with extra batteries)
DO NOT INCLUDE: Used or damaged items; warrelated items such as toy guns, knives or military figures; chocolate or food; out-of-date candy; liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snowglobes or glass containers; aerosol cans.
