Happy Sabbath, dear brothers,
and sisters!
We are so glad that you decided
to make our Lubbock Seventh-day
Adventist Church your place of
worship today. Each Sabbath is a
gift from God—a reminder that
we are His children and that He
desires to spend time with us in
worship, fellowship, and rest.
My prayer today is that you experience His presence
in a very real way.
Last Sabbath many of us were blessed to attend the
Texico Conference Convocation, where we gathered
with brothers and sisters from across our conference
territory. What a beautiful sight it was to see God’s
people coming together in unity, praising His name,
and sharing stories of what He is doing in different
churches and communities. Moments like these
remind us that we are part of something much larger
than ourselves—God’s worldwide movement to
proclaim the everlasting gospel and prepare the world
for Jesus’ soon return.
Today, as we return to our home church, we continue
our sermon series titled “Rooted.” Just as a tree
cannot survive without strong roots, so our Christian
walk cannot thrive unless we are firmly grounded in
Christ. This Sabbath, we are focusing on what it
means to be rooted in the Word of God. Scripture
reminds us in Isaiah 40:8, “The grass withers, the
flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.”
Everything else in life may shift or change, but God’s
Word remains a firm foundation.
In a world filled with uncertainty, opinions, and
constant noise, the Bible continues to provide clarity,
direction, and hope. It is more than just a book—it is
the living Word of God, a lamp to our feet and a light
to our path. As we open Scripture together today, I
invite you to listen with an open heart and allow the
Holy Spirit to plant God’s truth deep within your life.
When we are rooted in His Word, we find strength in
trials, guidance in decisions, and peace in the storms
of life.
May God bless you abundantly as you worship Him
this Sabbath. May this be a day not only of rest but
also of renewal—a time where your faith grows
deeper roots in the One who promises never to leave
you nor forsake you.
With love in Christ,
Pastor Raul Alvarez
