Eating at the Old U.S. Post Office Pavilion One of the unique places where we were able to eat was at the Old U.S. Post Office on Pennsylvania Avenue not far from the White House. The Old Post Office Pavilion is now a Food Court where visitors can experience both its glamorous past and unique present with international food, eclectic shopping and special events.
While walking to the Old Post Office we saw the dress rehearsal of the San Francisco-based Project Bandaloop, which was an aerial performance on unusual vertical architecture.
Our eyes immediately turned upward toward the 315-foot clock tower where performers were using harnesses and rock climbing gear to leap, turn and flip in the air with subtle and dramatic gestures. The performance was accompanied by music written by Dana Leong, who played on the trombone and electric cello, accompanied by his computer from a building ledge.
One student commented, “You certainly don’t see anything like this in Lubbock!” However, you can see lives changed to serve God at Lubbock Junior Academy. Please join us for the 2012 – 2013 school year.
