Bible is the first class of the day at Lubbock Junior Academy. This year the students in grades 1-4 are studying God’s plan to redeem this world. Beginning with the problems that Lucifer created in heaven when he became jealous of God. This jealously led to a rebellion in heaven and results in Satan’s temptation of Adam and Eve.
Each lesson addresses the charges Satan has leveled against God as they study stories in the Bible that illustrate God’s plan. Our students learn of God’s desire to have each one with Him in heaven, which is possible through belief in the life, death, and resurrection of His son, Jesus. The final lesson assures students of the promise of Jesus’ return to this earth to gather and transport to heaven those who believe in Him.
Our students in grades 5-8 are taking an in-depth look at Galatians 5:22-23, and how these virtues apply to real life. Each of these gifts may be exemplified in us if we allow the Holy Spirit to control our thoughts and actions. Love is the tree upon which these fruits grow: joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. All give evidence of a loving heart. Each virtue is illustrated by four lessons, each in a different setting: contemporary, Old Testament, New Testament, and historical.
Our students become well-grounded in the Scriptures and the grace of Jesus Christ. These Bible classes are always some of the best minutes of each day.
