Now more from Pastor Sam:
WHO I AM, AND MY PERSONAL VISION & MISSION:
“I love Jesus. I am a seasoned, educated, old-fashioned,
and progressive Seventh-day Adventist Pastor of 31
years with a heart for humans of all stripes and colors. I
have spent the past 18 years of my life in two wonderful
districts of my Wisconsin Conference (6 in the first
church, 11 in my current one) Connected to Jesus
through the Spirit, my personal vision is of a safe world
filled with joy and fulfillment, through actuating my
personal mission of being present, engaged, and
respectful of others. I care”
MY MINISTRY CALL, GIFTS AND VALUES: My earliest
calls to ministry were shaped by my experience as a
member of a pastoral family and by my early love for
Jesus. As a young adult, my call to full time ministry was
crystalized through love of the scriptures while living in
Israel, and by a recognition of the lasting pre-eminence
of the spiritual over any other earthly pursuit and
achievement. I like to connect and interact with others
in the common pursuit of finding purpose and meaning
in life and ministry. I am flexible; I interpret with
creativity; I adapt to people, organizations, the world; I
am glad to participate and do my part in achieving
organizational goals. To me, growing integrity with God,
and consistent human compassion when it matters are
paramount.
PERSONAL INTERESTS AND SKILLS: Health, exercise
and practices, teaching and learning, family and nature,
music and the arts (played violin professionally, play the
piano), languages (fluent in English, French, Modern
Hebrew, Italian and Spanish).
