One bar of Ivory soap, one toothbrush, one washcloth, a toy, several pencils and the list goes on…

These are some of the items LJA students packed into the Operation Christmas Child boxes. Shoebox size boxes are filled with items to help a child smile. Not just any child, but a child who may have never had a gift or a toy. These small gifts can help a heart not to lose hope.

LJA students will have made a difference in the life of a child. Jesus must have smiled while watching our students packing shoeboxes. These gifts of hope can teach a child about the love of God, lead him or her to believe in Him and inspire all who participate to know they have made a difference in the lives of God’s children.

We watched several videos encouraging us who love Jesus to pack a shoebox for one of His children. One video was very funny, and showed us how helping others is a fun thing to do. Another video showed how shoeboxes helped many orphan children get through a horrific time during the Rwanda genocide in 1994.

Our boxes are on a journey, a journey filled with prayers and love. We can’t wait until next year! The love just keeps going on and on!
