There were plenty of giggles, eating, and jumping last Sunday. Adults and children enjoyed burgers topped with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and numerous condiments. Person after person wanted an ice cream cone and a snow cone. The smell of fresh popped popcorn wafted throughout our Fellowship Hall. Large pickles were being gobbled up by several laughing pickle folk. Children bounced up and down in an inflatable house. They loved seeing how high they could jump. In different parts of the Fellowship Hall there were fun, test-your-skills games. It looked like an old fashioned carnival.

These activities were all part of a fundraiser sponsored by the Social Committee to raise funds for the Lubbock Junior Academy older students to fly to Washington, D.C., and see many historic sights. Our church family was very generous with their donations and purchases.

Our friends and family helped raise $628.52 at the carnival. One generous donor gave a large can filled with coins. All of this fun brought in much needed funds. Now, that’s what I call a worthwhile fund raiser! These funds helped boost our total travel amount to $4805.27! It looks like we are on our way to D.C.! God bless each and every one of you for your prayers, donations and help. Who knows, one of our students may someday run for U.S. Congress.
