On Tuesday, November 24, we moved our desks into a large rectangle for our annual Thanksgiving dinner. We prepared a pound and a-half of spaghetti with tomato sauce. Our green vegetable was green beans. One parent brought some delicious muffins and chopped fruit. Another brought bottles of fruit juice. No one seemed to mind that this wasn’t anything like a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. It was just another chance to be together and enjoy each other and eat.

That’s what I like about the LJA kids. They don’t seem to care if things are different or out-of-the-ordinary. They are always ready to change and do things in an offbeat way. These students are ready to try anything new. Several students came back for more spaghetti and the muffins and fruit were treated as exotic delicacies. The kids were so glad for the fruit juice. It seemed like a happy family enjoying good food and wonderful friendship. This is just a foretaste of what it will be like when we eat around the banquet table in Heaven.

After recess we came back in to play Thanksgiving Jingo. We like to play Thanksgiving Jingo because it can be silly and relaxing. This game involves every age level and we have fun reviewing interesting facts about Thanksgiving. We especially like to use candy corn or M&Ms while playing.

We’re anxious to have fun with you at the Christmas program and fundraiser on December 12. You know it will be unique and fun!
