On Sabbath, October 16, LJA students participated in the dedication of Baby Elianna Jolie André They only had one day notice – but Pastor Sven knew the students had been praying for this baby “with a hole in her heart” since the day she was born, so when he invited them to sing they knew they must. With such a short time how could they find an appropriate song that would convey their care and concern? There was not a dry eye in the congregation as the LJA students swayed in unison and sang:

“Day is dying in the west . All night, all day, angels watching over me, my Lord, All night, all day, angels watching over me. Sleep my child, take your rest; angels watching over me. All night, all day, angels watching over me, my Lord. All night, all day, angels watching over me.”

The entire Lubbock congregation pledged to join the LJA students in prayer for this special child, knowing she must face open-heart surgery before she is six-months old. Our combined prayer is for the Master Physician to guide the surgeons in this delicate operation so she can grow and one day be a student at Lubbock Junior Academy.
