It was Let’s Move Day this past Sunday, September 21. Dozens of church members along with Lubbock Junior Academy students came out for a walk. We met at Buddy Holly Park for worship and had a brisk walk around the lake.

Most of the adults walked while several of the young people ran in order to complete their mile. These miles walked are registered with In Step for Life at http://www.adventistsinstepforlife.org/. After our energetic walk the participants were fed a delicious brunch of oatmeal, waffles, boiled eggs, soy milk and fruit.

Adventists InStep for Life was created by the North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to assist Adventist churches, schools and health care organizations in tackling the challenge of childhood obesity. Every conference, church, school, university and health care organization in the North American Division is encouraged to form an Adventists InStep for Life team to coordinate activities that inspire healthy eating and physical activity and to further awareness of childhood obesity in their community.

Everyone can still be a part of the Adventists InStep for Life program by registering your miles at the web site stated above.

Keep on walking!
